Dirty Djs play after Ray Mann Three at Melt Bar

Wow, what an honor. The Ray Mann Three are playing this Thursday at Melt. Thankfully , this is during my regular Thursday night residency. This local soul outfit whos latest album has been on high rotation when we should have been working on music our selves, will be doing several sets through out the evening. from 9pm I am most excited as the minimal sounds of the latest album, The Ray Mann Three – The Album have mixed well during our recent DJ sets tracks from the likes of Erika Badu, Fat Freddy’s Drop and D’Angelo.

Location : Melt Bar – 12 Kellet Street, Kings Cross NSW 2011

Ray Man Three – My Space

Thanks to the staff Melt for continually bringing such amazing acts and a pleasant environment every Thursday night. Music of Ma play next week, they tore the roof of last time with a slick natural sound with a  blend of electro and soul.

First Singer Songwriter night announced

Date: Tuesday 9th September, 2008

Venue : Cafe Lounge, Goulburn St Surry Hills

Opening Act: Sarah Martyn – Myspace

Count The Days – Sarah Martyn

Happy Nice Song for My Boy – Sarah Martyn

We are far too excited to announce that Sarah Martyn will be our first act. The intimate venue of Cafe Lounge will give you an up close glimpse of the creative side and skill of the unique jazz trained Sarah Martyn. We look forward to the environment Sarah set with her extensive music training and singing back ground. For a sneak peak of some of the song writing Sarah has under gone in the past few years, check out the above My Space link.

We are yet to decide on a name for the evening, it will more than likely be Dirty Old Man Records presents … at Cafe Lounge. Each week will have a few running themes along the side of the main artist.

The Dirty DJ’s will be doing an low key acoustic-ish DJ set with an emphasis on two records. One being released within the past two years or so, and another from well before we born. The first show will emphasise on Allison Kraus and Robert Plant’s Raising Sands and the other being the late Nick Drake’s Five Leaves Left. I will be recording every artist each month, with hope of some sort of compilation towards the end of summer.

If this sound exciting to you, please feel free to come down and join us for a Chai Tea, Cocktail or Brownie every four weeks from the 9th of September. Get down early to get one of our bean bags for a front row spot.

If your a singer wongwriter and are interested in recording or potentailly playing as one of our featured artists, please contact me. djnicklarosa@gmail.com
